What if one device could help you navigate anywhere in the U.S. and Canada, while offering travel tips, storing your favorite tunes and photos, providing translation assistance, and more? That device is here, and it’s not much bigger than a deck of cards.

With the prices of such multi-function GPS devices coming down so far - theres little excuse to ever get lost again - either the usual way, or through discovering Google maps has led you down a completely wrong path.
“An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides”

So you can search for a type of restaurant or fun weekend entertainment spot and this little gem will guide you right to the parking lot. While your on your way, you can use the device to listen to audiobooks, or listen to your favorite mp3’s. An all around great device now reduced in price from
$969.00 to an amazing $383.80! - Get it HERE at Amazon

Bluetooth Handsfree with OLED Display (Speakerphone)

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

bt_s200.jpg

One of my wifes big complaints about her bluetooth headset is that its hard to hear in the car (what with background noise etc). This slick looking device is an answer to that problem with a few extra goodies thrown in.

It’s OLED screen displays phone status, battery, call status, caller ID, and local phonebook records, and you can recharge the unit via USB connection or car charger.

You can either clip it to your sun visor or vent with the included clips.

You can find it over at Thinkgeek for $79.99

Motorola T5500R GMRS / FRS Rechargeable 8-Mile Two-Way Radio

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

B0001YFWCQ.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_AA280_.jpg
A couple years ago I got pair of the 5 mile versions of these and the wife and I tested them out quite a bit. I gotta say the 5 mile range is pretty accurate, and having a live radio to talk with the wife when she’s out hiking or walking the dogs is great. The one thing I would have changed with mine is to have internal batteries as ours have 4 AAA’s and with a kid in the house those batteries are always in high demand.

This new version does just that - gives you a charger base and 2 handsets. Stay in touch with your kids while they are riding their bikes - or keep a line open to family or friends while out and about. These are even great when your out shopping - ever lose the wife in the mall ?

* Communicate from a distance of up to 8 miles away
* 22 channels to communicate from along with 38 codes per channel
* Comes with rechargeable batteries and drop-in charger
* QT noice filter to minimize interference
* Comes with removable belt clips to clip on anywhere

They are pre-order only right now - but if you act right away you can
Pre-Order them for only $49.99

Most of us don’t have 500+ dollars to lay down on a car GPS system, so for those of us still chained to a map or written directions there is this nifty gadget that can help out. Not only will it give you your heading, it also gives time, temperature, ice warnings, and a calendar.
